Preliminary Film Task Evaluation.
Synopsis of my film
My 2 actors fight over pens. The boy snatches the girls pen and the film ends with her storming out.
Pre-production
The pre-production work took me around 2 weeks to plan. This work included a brief overview, a script, a storyboard, a location scout and a planning schedule. These elements are all vital to a successful final product.
Production
For my filming, I used a digital SLR camera with HD movie. I decided that it would be best to film on one day in order to avoid breaking the continuity, such as clothes and hair styles etc. Whilst on location, I took the opportunity to take my location stills and write my filming diary. This gives details of how my filming went and any problems I faced or avoided.
Post-production
After filming, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to edit my work. As it was the first time I have used this program, I found it difficult to understand at first. However I am glad that I perceived with it as I learnt the basic skills so I know how to use it for my main AS film task, and eventually my A2 main task. The main thing I learnt was how to cut a shot. If I were to do this task again, I would make the editing tighter and adjust some of the clips.
Within my film I successfully used/followed the following techniques:
· 180 degree rule
· Shot reverse shot
· Match on action
· Continuity
