Audience Appeal.
In this part of my coursework will give details of my film and I will also explain why I think that it will appeal and appropriately suit my target audience. All of my decisions made to do with my film have been based on and decided by the results I have received from my target audience
questionnaire, along with my market research.
I believe that everyone will enjoy my crime/drama film. Firstly, it will provide my target audience with a thrill and a feeling of entertainment. As well as feeling attracted by the film, I also believe that the target audience would in turn feel repelled in some of the crime parts. However I think
that this would make them want to watch the film more to find out what happens next.
I trust that an element of danger within the film would also attract the audience. The danger makes the film itself more amusing for the audience as they would feel like they are involved within the film. This is a high-quality element of a film as the audience would feel like they could get involved without having to face the aftermath of reality.
The suspense of the film would also be an attraction for the audience to the film. From my experience, viewers can never resist watching something with a cliff hanger at the end. Therefore, I believe that this particular factor would intrigue my target audience into watching my film.
This particular genre makes you feel a mixture of emotions, some of which include fear and horror, along with anticipation, surprise and sadness. I believe that a mixture of feelings is important within the film so that it appeals to everyone. Regardless of whether they are positive or negative feelings, the audience will again feel that they are involved in the film because of our natural instant reactions.
Again to appeal to the intended target audience, the storyline will vary from optimistic to pessimistic to ensure the audience will be satisfied with the film. The special effects will also contribute to the success of my genre. The sound effects and music are added to add suspense. You will usually find that if you mute the sound out of the film, it instantly become more bearable and less you will be less fearful. I believe to watch a crime/drama genre, you are preparing to be scared at some point. Therefore I will be using sound effects in my film to add some tension and also anticipation that the audience are looking for.
